Mobile GO Centers

Go Center Students

Starting with the simple idea that the best way to reach students-youth and adult-to encourage them to investigate and apply to college is to go to them-is exactly what Mobile Go Centers do.

Operated by Universities and Colleges across the state, the Mobile Go Centers were started by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the College for All Texans Foundation to allow college advisors to go into surrounding communities and assist groups with the often-intimidating process of applying for college and financial aid.

Initially funded with an AT&T grant there are currently 18 of these trailers fully equipped with satellite technology and laptop computers to allow targeted populations to explore websites designed to assist with the college prep process.

The Colleges and Universities take their units to primary and secondary schools, public housing developments, community centers, rodeos and festivals-any place they can help spread a college going culture.
